Interview: British Hotty Laura Shields

From FHM photo shoots to NBC's hit show Deal or No Deal, British hotty Laura Shields is on her way to the big time with sexy curves and a genius IQ. She talks to FM about beauty, fame, and what she really likes.

How was growing up in Manchester? What do you remember growing up hearing about American girls, guys?

I loved where I grew up, Manchester is in the North of England and is a fantastic city, the people are friendly and down to Earth and we are very proud of Manchester. Although I did hate the cold and I'm surprisingly not a fan of football even though we have one of the best teams in the world! It was the World's first industralized city and was part of the World's first passenger railway- Liverpool to Manchester and we also have a lot of history in music. I grew up with my mum, dad and brother and we travelled a lot.

My mother is half Sri-Lankan and half Spanish so we spent a lot of time in Spain but I was lucky to travel the World at an early age. I spent my spare time looking after my horse and horse-riding is still my main passion. I was also into learning about everything and I loved school! I was defiantely a geek and a straight A student... I got into modelling at 14 when I was stopped by a scout for Elite model agency.

really didn't think about American guys or girls growing up I guess when your young you're too busy ! But I visited Miami and Florida and loved it and I think the schooling system looked way more fun when I watched films like grease haha!

So what don't we know about a hot beauty queen's life?

Well I'm not a beauty queen anymore... I was miss uk in 2004 and got to do some amazing things but unfortunately its 2006 now so my claim is over! What don't you know about my life? Well most things!

What really goes through your mind during photo shoots? Dirty fantasies or grocery lists, or maybe grocery lists for dirty fantasies?

I love photo shoots that's why I'm in the business I'm in but work is work so I'm usually thinking more mundane things like what I'm doing that night and what I'm going to eat :) but the swimsuit and lingerie shoots I do really put me in a sexy mood for when I get back to my man...

In LA, is it me, or people stare at everyone to see if they're famous or not?

It's not just you! And we all love to look people watching is the best just don't be a stalker! It's getting crazy with all the celebrity news coverage, what's your take on Fame? Well if you are in this industry you have to accept that your life is subject to the public, if anything celebritys as much as they hate the paparrazi and news coverage also need it for their careers. I do think it is extremely hard to determine how much you should be able to pry into anyones life. No matter how famous someone is they still should be entitled to some kind of private life but I think a lot of celebritys court the attention and so its hard when they then complain about invasions of privacy.

So how famous do you want to be?

I want to have a successful career and lead a happy life if fame comes with that then so be it but I don't want my whole life known to the public but then again I'm not the type of girl to be caught clubbing without my underwear or releasing a sex tape.

You were chosen for Deal or No Deal, tell a good behind the scenes story, one that might get you in trouble.

Deal or No Deal is a great family show I'm really excited to be part of so I'm sorry no stories to tell here!

Angel but behind closed doors you gotta let the rebel out ;)

Can I get chocolate covered strawberries? I'm actually addicted to them right now!

Chill lounge or late-night 7a.m. party session?

I live in LA not Europe anymore everywhere closes at 2! I will take the chill lounge in LA but late night in UK!

On your site, you have a cool quote about beautiful girls. What makes a girl truly beautiful?

As cliche as it sounds what makes anyone beautiful is how they are as a person looks are just superficial. If you have a good heart and you stay true to yourself, that's true beauty. My quote on my site is - 'it was found that the World was filled with beautiful women, it was found that being beautiful wasn't nearly enough'. Its nice to be considered beautiful but I'm more proud to have an education and be a member of mensa which is a high iq society- an iq of 160 put me in top 1 percent of the population and this with my degree and who I am on the inside will be around long after my looks fade.

So what makes a guy look past beautiful?

If the guy is a man or a boy... Men look past beautiful, boys are still stuck on it.

What's the difference between beautiful and sexy?

I think beauty is in the eye of the beholder and if you're a good person you're beauty shines through its more about you as a whole. Sexy is a state of mind, I find confidence, taking control, and not being insecure make me sexy and some nice lingerie helps too! Haha Yeah and my degree was in chemical engineering so when I dress up in my lab coat that's pretty hot !

I think a beautiful Chemical Engineering major is pretty damn sexy.
