Louis Osbourne:
Son of Rock Star
Ozzy makes his own waves
with CD release and world tour.
Being the
son of renowned Rock Star Ozzy Osbourne it was almost
Inevitable that his destiny was to be an entertainer
of some description. Brought up in Birmingham, England,
Louis had never taken an interest in being a musician
or performer until his first experience of going to
a Rave when he was just 16 years old.
"
I traveled to this Rave in February 1992, Fantazia at
Westpoint Exhibition Centre, Exeter, completely on my
own, and discovered a whole sub-culture that absolutely
fascinated me." Although Louis didn't buy any turntables
for 2 years from that point, he spent a considerable
amount of that time traveling the length and breadth
of the UK visiting some of the nations best clubs and
events. He was an early follower of more mainstream
music like DJ's Sasha and Danny Rampling, but it wasn't
until a friend introduced him to something completely
new, that made him take that first step.
He secured
a job at Birmingham's infamous Hard to Find Records,
where he worked as sales manager almost 3 years..something
that he refers to as his University Course in dance
music. It wasn't long before he had landed his residency
for House Of God, Birmingham's Techno mecca, which he
still holds to this day. Soon after in Ibiza through
Steve Lawler and Pete Gooding, Louis also gained a residency
for Cream at Amnesia, playing on the infamous Terrace,
with further gigs on the roof terrace of Pacha for the
Ministry Of Sound, then as a resident at El Divino Sunset
Café, with further work for Cream & Bugged
Out at Amnesia, and more roof terrace work at Pacha.
While
his family revolutionized television on MTV, Louis traveled
the world extensively in the last couple of years, spreading
his message of quality, underground dance music as well
as fulfilling his commitments in the UK. Tours have
included the USA, Canada, Australia, Germany, The Czech
Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Ireland. In the past
2 years Louis has been concentrating on the American
market, ever increasingly finding himself on the other
side of the Atlantic where the dance scene is burgeoning.
With gigs this last year at clubs like Spundae (LA),
Buzz (Washington DC), Eleven 50 (Atlanta) and The Opium
Lounge (Miami), Shampoo (Philadelphia), Louis' star
is rising. So far 2002 has been a huge year for Louis
with a busy schedule that has seen him constantly touring
the globe. Notable gigs have included Cream (Ibiza),
Creamfields (UK), Union at Rehab (Leeds UK), Shine (Belfast
UK) plus numerous dates around the USA. The end of the
year finishes with more work booked in the USA, plus
a 4 week tour of Australia and New Zealand in November.
Louis has recently signed for a DJ Mix Compilation series
with New York label Blue Chip Records. The first release
due Spring next year. There is a TV contract under negotiation
in the USA as well, so 2003 will be an even bigger year
for Louis.
