Annual International Reggae & World Music Awards
With MTV2 Take Center Stage

March 25, 2005 -- Event producer Ephraim Martin, president
of Martin’s Inter-Culture announced today the
worlds premier awards event for reggae and world music,
the 24th Annual International Reggae and World Music
Awards (IRAWMA) in association with MTV2, will once
again take center stage in New York on Mother’s
Day weekend, Saturday, May 7th, 9:00 pm, at Columbia
University- Alfred Lerner Hall, 115th Street and Broadway,
in New York City.

Inter-Culture box office (877) 9-REGGAE. VIP tickets
are only $75 (8:00 pm) and general admission at a mere

The IRAWMA annually
honors the best in reggae and world beat music on a
global level. The experts in the reggae and world music
industry have voted and the nominations are now been
tallied to determine the best for the year 2004 in some
forty categories.
Last year’s big
winners included Elephant Man (3), Luciano (2), and
Lady Saw amongst others. Nominees this year include:
Freddie MacGregor, Marcia Griffiths, Sean Paul, Beres
Hammond, Elephant Man, I-Wayne, Youssou N’Dour,
Burning Spear, Tanya Stephens, Spanish Harlem Orchestra,
Vybz Kartel, Kanye West, Paula Rubio and many more.
Reggae and world music fans together with the general
public are now able to participate [Deadline April 20,
2005] in the selection of winners in various categories,
by vote online www.internationalmusicawards.com, www.martinsinterculture.com
or by mail in ballots which will be available in various
newspapers and records stores. Ballots may be requested

The International Reggae
& World Music Awards is the longest running international
reggae event, and the only Awards program of its kind
that honors the accomplishments of reggae and world
beat entertainers. During its twenty-four (24) year
history, the Awards as been hosted in several cities;
including, Chicago, Atlanta, Fort Lauderdale, Miami,
New Orleans, Montego Bay and Ocho Rios The Awards executive
body once again chose New York over several other locations
including Barbados, Bahamas, Cayman Islands, Ghana,
London and Nigeria, all of which again expressed interest
in hosting this event.
