Genesis
Publications publishes rare and unseen photos of Jimi
Hendrix’s meteoric rise to fame
(PRWEB) -- The
late Noel Redding, bass player for the Jimi Hendrix
Experience, wrote the affectionate foreword to Classic
Hendrix. Many of the 260 photos, taken between 1966-1970,
are rare or previously unseen and include live stage
shots, studio sessions and backstage material. Musical
contemporaries including Ozzy Osbourne and Eric Clapton
offer personal insights on the man and his music. The
propulsion of Hendrix to world fame from the early Paris
Olympia gigs in October 1966 and the intensity of his
later career are also revealed. Contributions from 34
renowned photographers tell the story behind the pictures
in Classic Hendrix, the new book from Genesis Publications.
The book will be available nation-wide from winter 2004.
Other highlights include:
•Hendrix as victim of his own notoriety
