DJ
Keri previews latest project on FM
By: Nevin Millan
While talking
with DJ Keri, you would ever suspect that she is
a multi- talented DJ, songwriter, singer, and producer.
She's so down to earth and easy going that I had
almost forgot that I was there to interview her.
DJ Keri has been surrounded by music for years.
It first started with her uncle, who wrote the famous
song "Sea of Love",
who planted the seed of inspiration in her mind. Before
her life as a DJ, Keri was working as a nurse by
day and by night she was the lead singer of her
band.
Soon after her
band went separate ways, Keri was turned on to the world
of DJs. A DJ friend of hers, Carlos Hernandez, showed
her the ropes, and DJ Keri was born. Keri took to the
turntables like a fish to water, she was a natural.
Since then, Keri has used her musical talents to write
and produce her own progressive house tracks (a few
of which you are listening to exclusively on FrequencyMagazine.com).
DJ Keri's drive for success is fueled by the overwhelming
support she receives from those closest to her. In the
DJ business, predominantly run by men, she has faced
an uphill battle but through hard work, perseverance,
and support, DJ Keri has established a spot for herself
on the world map of DJs.
Amongst the many international crowds she has played
for, Amsterdam and Aruba rank at the top of her list
as her favorite crowds to play for. Keri has an uncanny
ability to read each crowd she plays for and feeds them
exactly what they came to hear. As for her critics,
Keri isn't worried; they are usually few and far between.
In the near future, DJ Keri has her sights set on Indonesia
and the Mecca of dance music venues, Ibiza.
