Adrienne Lau: Get
Ready for the First Chinese American Pop Star
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB)
-- The jury is in. Henceforth, there should be no question
whether or not America is ready to accept the musical
ascendancy of Asian/American Pop Star Adrienne Lau,
who has become a phenomenon on My Space with over one
million fans. The verdict is a resounding yes.
It's historic, it's undeniable and epic making. Hong
Kong born Adrienne Lau of Global Village Records, debuted
at #16 on the U.S. Hot Single Sales charts of Billboard
Magazine (July 22, 2006 Edition).
The single “Wanna be Happy” does exactly
what the title promises. It is apropos in today’s
troubled times. Ask anyone what they want most in life; “Wanna
be Happy” will be one of the top answers. Once
you hear it, it will become your favorite mantra.
As a trailblazer, Adrienne is the first Asian-American
Pop Star to chart on billboard in recent times. This
is only the beginning. She is poised for bigger and
greater things as the airwaves embrace not only her
hot single 'Wanna Be Happy' but also other chart busting
singles in her self-titled album 'Adrienne.'
Insiders in the business think her album is more than
a blockbuster. With songs like 'You're the One' featuring
Petey Pablo, music by recently billboard featured producers “Co-stars,” not
to mention writers and producers who work with the
likes of Beyonce, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera
and other chart busters. She could be headed for best
new artist this year.
The future and the musical horizon have never looked
better for Adrienne, who started 2006 with a big bang
in more ways than one. She hosted the New Year's Eve
countdown in Brazil. She attended the Grammy's and
the Oscars in LA. Shortly thereafter, she was in France,
Germany and England where she had a brief respite attending
the Brits Awards with Kanye West. Days before, they
were both part of the ostentatious merry making post
Grammy Party in Los Angeles. She is also shooting for
her new reality series 'Life of a Pop Star,' which
is in post-production.
Adrienne is poised to be not only a torch bearer for
the young Pop/Urban youngsters, of every land and climate,
she believes in bridging the gap by meet and greets,
coupled with live performances. In June 2006, she embarked
on a tour of Asia, where she made significant stops
in Mainland China. She had a photo shoot in Hong Kong
and will soon be gracing the pages of Cosmo Girl as
well as several other magazines based in Shanghai.
As the international spokes model for Vigoss Jeans
(manufacturer for Seven for Mankind), Adrienne was
delighted to visit the headquarters.
The Asian trip culminated in Hong Kong, her hometown,
where she reinforced the import of her musical crusade
to represent and entertain, whilst changing the musical
landscape by breaking stereotypes, using her music
as clear incontrovertible evidence.
