Filo PeriFilo & Peri Release Crowd Control: Live From Wet Grooves, Las Vegas On 3/8/2007

NEW YORK – Filo & Peri release their debut, full-length mix compilation, Crowd Control: Live From Wet Grooves, Las Vegas (Crowd Control Recordings/Moist Music) on March 8, 2007. A collection of 18 tracks that captures the free-spirited, lighthearted party-vibe embraced by dance culture’s carefree youth, Live From Wet Grooves is the perfect upbeat soundtrack for the playfully wild gatherings hosted by the roving party known as Wet Grooves. Says Domenick Filopei of the DJ-production team Filo & Peri, “Some of the most energetic parties Bo and I have played have been the Wet Grooves parties in Las Vegas and Miami. Their crowds are really open-minded and ready to explore new sounds and they’re quite musically savvy. We wanted to sort of encapsulate the vibe from one of the Wet Grooves parties we’ve played in Las Vegas and really turn-it-out on this CD. I think we nailed it.”

The first in a series from Filo & Peri’s new label, Crowd Control Recordings, Live From Wet Grooves contains no less than eight original FNP productions. Much of what makes the mix strong can be found in those Filo & Peri tracks. Says Bo Pericic of Filo & Peri, “We’ve always been about making great music, and that fuels the life of the party. More than anything else, we want people to have a good time when they’re listening to our music, whether our tunes are heard when we’re DJing in a club, when we’re playing at a pool party like Wet Grooves, or when our CDs are being played in someone’s home entertainment system. That’s why we put so much blood, sweat and tears into our own productions; we know how important it is to get it right.” And get it right they do.

From the electro-pop of Granite and Phunk’s “Switch On Push Play” to the sophisticated build of Filo & Peri’s “Pocket Pimps,” and from the thrilling ‘glam’ synths of Filo & Peri’s “Smashed In Brazil” to the filthy production and dirty super-bass of Ian Carey’s “Lose Control,” Live From Wet Grooves aims high and delivers. The first smash hit of 2007 is Filo & Peri vs Nucvise’s “Jiggle It,” an addictively upbeat track distinguished by a syncopated and percussive synth pattern as enthralling as it is explosive. Songs are strong, and Jussi Polet feat. Josie Dale’s “Positive” is proof, with its silvery vocals and delicate melody contrasting against a distorted bassline and pounding 4/4 beat. Irresistible covers include: Serge Devant vs FNP’s “I Need You Tonight” (an INXS cover); MV’s “Mr. Roboto” (a STYX cover); and Filo & Peri’s “Long Train Runnin’” (a Doobie Brothers cover). All in all, the Live From Wet Grooves compilation contains enough expansive basslines, radio-ready beats and electro-house influences to keep the party going, rain or shine.
