On TV you very often hear all the ads for prescription drugs. They talk to you about sad feelings you may have, or possible stages of depression, anxiety, or whatever. But what if we had complete control over the perceptions we have of our own realities, without prescription drugs, material possessions we can't afford, and everything else thrown at us to try and make our realities better?

Honestly, what the #$* is going on here?

Dr. John Hagelin“What the #$* Do We Know?,” an independent film that debuted just outside Olympia, Wash., and has since grossed millions and spread to mainstream theaters, addresses a few societal ills, like the cry for anti-depressants and the endless search for fulfillment. The answer, it suggests, is not a prescription drug at all- it’s quantum physics.

“What the #$* Do We Know?” interviews neurologists, physicians, physicists, and one of your everyday channellers of spirits gone before us, to add credibility to their claim: that by understanding quantum physics, we can use the power of our minds to rewire ourselves to result in a new and improved version of our current selves.

The film’s ultimate point is this: That the neurons in our brains physically rewire themselves according to the emotional chemicals we choose to produce. Hence, if we choose to be depressed, our brain will accommodate that by building a roadmap for depression chemicals. Our cells will reshape to accept the chemicals. Hence, we program ourselves to make depression our very own personal homepage. And, as the explanation suggests, we can rewire our brains all by ourselves. No lasers, nothing. Just by tapping into the potential of our minds.

The film continues to question the human version of God, suggesting God is much bigger that we can imagine- that God certainly does not take the form of a human man, nor should our actions be bound by the threat of God’s punishment. It suggests that we all have the potential to walk on water; that the only thing binding us to our three recognized dimensions and this particular space in time is us. Full enlightenment would allow us to tap into all the previous versions of ourselves that we’ve left behind, be it on our undergrad campuses or an ex-lover’s doorstep. To bring it back to center, the key component to breaking out of our three-dimensional existence is rewiring our brains to love each and every part of ourselves and each and every version of ourselves.

It’s either the key to enlightenment or a load of #$*. Decide for yourself.
