VizcayaThe Vizcayans and Virgin Megastore to host a band "play-off" at Sunset Place mall.

Miami - The La Lega dei Viscayani committee will team with Virgin Atlantic Megastore and celebrity personalities in hosting an “American Idol” style band play-off promoting the 7th Annual Vizcayan “Red, White and Blue Fest” fundraising event benefiting Vizcaya Museum and Gardens. The band “play-off” competition will take place all day from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22nd at the Virgin Atlantic Megastore in Sunset Place Mall, 5701 Sunset Drive, South Miami, Florida 33143. Co-Chair Clayton Clavette stated that “several local athletes along with Laurie Jennings from the Channel 10 News Team, will be among the palette of celebrities judging the contest. The judges will decide which of the top three performers (bands and singers) ‘has what it takes’ to get them to the final elimination round performed live at Vizcaya Museum on Saturday, July 2nd during the Vizcayans 7th Annual “Red, White and Blue Fest” complete with full open bars, food, continuous dancing and fireworks over the Bay. The winner of the July 2nd contest will go on to perform as an opening act on one of Virgin Megastore’s Atlantic’s Summer Showcases.”

La Lega dei Viscayani hosts annual fundraisers such as “Red, White and Blue” to assist in the ongoing restoration and preservation of Vizcaya Museum and Gardens.

The Vizcayans is a non-profit corporation chartered in 1957 to promote an active appreciation and patronage of the arts and of Vizcaya and to provide for the care, maintenance, support and success of Vizcaya as an Art Museum.
