Miami , FL (June 29, 2005) – Vencer Corporation has recently offered its support to CARE, one of the organizations that founded The ONE Campaign in the fight against global poverty. Vencer has created partnerships with businesses all over South Florida to come together as ONE and raise awareness for the campaign. This history-changing campaign needs attention from South Florida and we are inviting our community to join us in making that h appen and launching our grass roots campaign.
Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock, you’ve heard of the The ONE campaign and seen the dramatic black and white commercials featuring everyone from Brad Pitt to Tom Hanks and of course Bono, one of the campaign’s founders. It is a new effort by Americans to rally Americans – ONE by ONE – to fight the emergency of global AIDS and extreme poverty. The ONE Campaign is engaging Americans through a diverse coalition of faith-based and anti-poverty organizers to show the steps people can take, ONE by ONE, to fight global AIDS and poverty. It is the belief that allocating an additional ONE percent of the U.S. budget toward providing basic needs like health, education, clean water and food, would transform the futures and hopes of an entire generation of the poorest countries.
In order to inaugurate the grassroots marketing efforts by Vencer Corporation for the campaign, the company will host a petition signing party to involve the City of Miami and raise awareness. July 1 st the goal is to gain as many “last minute” signatures as possible for the declaration, to join the 800K people already signed and help reach the goal of ONE million letters signed before the G8 summit July 6. Invited local business owners, radio personalities, DJs, models, athletes and special invited artists will attend in support of the cause.
We have nationally felt the impact that star power can have on this campaign, with celebrities like Brad Pitt, P. Diddy, Salma Hayek and Cameron Diaz, all involved with this campaign. We are now calling on South Florida’s tastemakers to be a part of this campaign and give our community the voice to empower our region to make a difference. Celebrity Host Committee partially includes: local b reaking new artist of J Records Smitty, currently on tour, returning for this event and most notorious for his hit record “Diamonds on My Neck,” Stacks, of Miami’s SoBe Entertainment, will also be present to greet guests and sign the declaration. NFL stars Antonio Freeman and Autry Denson, race car champ Bruno Junquiera, power female radio hosts Supa Cindy, Elisa Lisa and K Foxx of WEDR-99 Jamz, Coka-Lani of WMIB-103 The Beat, Lucy Lopez and ChiChi of WPOW-Power 96 will also take time out to support the event. Official Miami Dolphins DJ, DJ Entice also of WEDR-FM and AOL Radio, and Miami’s DJ Knowledge will both also lend their time and talent to the cause by providing their mixing skills on the turntables and many more.
The ONE Declaration Event will take place at the Spy Bar inside the Catalina hotel on South Beach, 1732 Collins Avenue. Doors will open at 9:00PM to all R.S.V.P’d guests.
