Bang was off to a great start with performances by Fischerspooner, Front 242, Brazilian Girls, VHS or BETA and Chicks On Speed as well as a heavy-hitter DJ line-up that included ATB, Judge Jules, DJ Icey, Bad Boy Bill and over 40 more turntable talents. 2006's bill diversified with such acts as Duran Duran, Daft Punk, Gnarls Barkley, Modest Mouse, Kinky, Tiësto, Junior "Gong" Marley and more, with Evelyn McDonnell of the Miami Herald stating in her review: ".the BANG! Music Festival finally struck a chord with South Florida concertgoers Saturday night at Bicentennial Park. Approximately 20,000 colorfully garbed celebrants turned out to hear more than 50 dance, alternative, Latin, rock, and reggae acts on five stages" (11/13/06).
