Microsoft and Beatport present the biggest music technology showcase of the year

Miami, FL: March 17, 2006 Beatport and Microsoft Present Remix Hotel Miami, Remix magazine’s annual showcase, returning to Miami for a fourth year and bringing the nation’s biggest music technology extravaganza to the discerning music enthusiast and industry at large from March 22 - 24, 2006, 2:00p.m to 10:00p.m daily, at The National Hotel, 1677 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach, Florida.

With free admission to M3 pass holders and Remix magazine subscribers and for attendees that register on-site from 2:00 p.m. daily, Beatport, Microsoft, M3, Remix magazine and partners descend on South Beach for Three Days of Total Technology Immersion to offer master classes, workshops, seminars and clinics on music production and performance for electronic- and urban-music producers, engineers, musicians, fans and DJs. RHMIA has partnered with M3 for a second year to host their official series of daytime panels and Q&A sessions with some of the world’s top artists and experts on today's music production. These are just a few of the exciting giveaways in-store this year for RHMIA attendees.

“We are excited to bring together the world’s leading artists, music and technology brands for a fourth year during this most popular week for our readers,” says Joanne Zola, Remix Magazine's associate publisher.  “We feel we have our best ever lineup of sponsors and technology partners that will really elevate the event to a new level for those who register to attend.  We are thrilled to Microsoft, back for a third year, and Beatport as our leading Remix Hotel sponsors.  We are particularly proud to provide free admission, and walk-ups are always welcome.

Back for a third year at the Remix Hotel, Microsoft will be hosting a complete studio environment. Attendees will be able to check out and use the latest Windows powered technology in a variety of production and performance scenarios.  “This event has become the annual pilgrimage for anyone serious about electronic music. Our presence here is about supporting the community and our broad range of partners.  The amazing work artists are creating on the Windows platform is really a testament to the creative and innovate talents of our software and hardware partners.  This event provides an ideal environment for collaboration and innovation.  We are excited to be back and look forward to sharing experiences.” says Eric Schmidt from the Professional Digitial Media group at Microsoft.

Karl Detken, director of product planning for Pioneer, returns to the Remix Hotel Miami and says: "Pioneer started participating in Remix Hotel in 2003, and we have seen it grow exponentially.   Remix Hotel directly targets our audience, and we have benefited greatly from these shows.  We will continue to make it a priority each year to attend these events."

Red Fish Media will be the official Mobile Entertainment Partner for Remix Hotel Miami, offering mobile phone updates on the event and performances by registering online at http://www.myredfish.com/remix or by sending the word “Remix” to 23000 by SMS. Pro Sounds and Stage Lighting is the official retailer on-site with Mackie as this year’s Sound sponsor and visuals by Edirol (www.rolandus.com).

Launched in Miami in March 2003 during the annual Winter Music Conference, the second Remix Hotel took place later that year in New York during the annual AES (Audio Engineering Society) Convention. By the time the Remix Hotel returned to Miami in 2004, attendance had more than tripled. The Remix Hotel is now staged annually in Miami, New York and Los Angeles. Last year, Remix hosted a fourth Hotel event in Chicago, and this year the Hotel moves to Atlanta.
