Miami SpiceMiami Spice Announces more than 80 Participating Restaurants for August-September Event

Miami (July 2007)- Miami Spice Restaurant Month, South Florida's much anticipated annual culinary event, providing diners the opportunity to savor incredible, specially priced three-course meals at some of the area's top restaurants at prices reduced by 30-50%, announces more than 80 participants, making this the best year ever.

Organized by the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) for the sixth consecutive year and featuring American Express as the new presenting sponsor, and Pernod Ricard USA as an official sponsor, Miami Spice features the city's top restaurants offering special prixe fixe lunch menus for $22 and prixe fixe dinners for $35. Each restaurant will include an appetizer, entrée and dessert as part of the fixed price. In celebration of its support of the initiative, participating Miami Spice restaurants will receive advanced reservations for the program exclusively from American Express card members beginning July 10th through July 31st. At this year's Miami Spice, diners may delight in savory appetizers such as fava bean soup with grilled corn relish, and crispy pancetta (Table 8 South Beach), salmon tartare tossed with onions, chives, capers, extra virgin olive oil, garnished with guacamole and caviar (La Cofradia), wild mushroom cassolette with grilled bacon, creamy spinach and poached quail egg (Palme D'Or). Entrées range from sautéed Bell and Evans chicken breast baked with tomatoes, spinach and gorgonzola, served with white bean cakes (Mark's South Beach) to skirt steak in a sun-dried tomato crust with truffled Portobello mushrooms and corn ragu (Tuscan Steak).

Miami Spice Restaurant Month kicks off at the same time as Share Our Strength/Taste of the Nation Miami, which takes place August 1st at The Ritz-Carlton, Key Biscayne. The all-volunteer organization raises funds in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties to end childhood hunger in South Florida.
