Haitian Compas Festival Repeatedly Delivers What Fans Crave | Miami, FL - "The 10th Annual Compas Festival" will level Miami's Bicentennial Park on Saturday May 17, 2008 with the Creole Caribbean sounds of Haiti's Compas Music. Every ethnicity has been reveling in the rhythm that is compas. This year, pace yourself, splash on the red and blue and hold your breath. Compas Lovers from all over the world, this is your chance to experience the Haitian Compas Festival at its best.
This cultural event ranked 8th in 2003 and
continues to climb Billboard Magazine's charts. This year's performers will
bridge the generation gap. The Harmony Records team feels, the addition of
Magnum Band, Brothers Posee and Sweet Micky who returns this year as a performer,
will give the fans a potpourri of compas styles and Haitian sounds. Headliners
are already preparing to put on original shows T-Vice, Djakout, CaRiMi, Nu-Look,
Kreyol La, Mizik Mizik, Hangout, Volume and Back-Up are all prepared to outdo
each other on the podium.
The fans cannot ask for more.
All Compas Bands want to be on the Compas Festival Stage. "As we grow closer to Haitian Flag Day, deciding which band performs does not get easier." indicates VP Jean Michel Cerenord "The Day would never end if we put every band in the line up. The City of Miami would have to literally throw people out of the park." Fans can enjoy a lasting moment with the bands at the Kick-Off: May 15th with Sweet Micky at Marabou Café, May 16th T-Vice VS CaRiMi is an all Black Affair at Bongos, also on May 16th Kreyol La VS Djakout is an alternate choice for an all White Party. After Parties: On the 18th Djakout takes on Mizik Mizik at Hard Rock Café's SPIRIT Night Club for the first time in the United States. Another choice is NU-Look VS Kreyol La at Marabou Café. On May 19th Marabou Café takes bouillon Night up one notch with CaRiMi VS HangOut.
It becomes more challenging to keep it fresh; but we enjoy the challenge, and so far I believe we have succeeded," said Rodney Noel, President of Noel and Cecibon Productions, Inc. "This time, count on a day of outstanding compas music featuring the best of traditional and contemporary compas including numerous surprises." Compas Festival remains a family-oriented atmosphere. We have moved on to double digits. We have to provide double the Fun and for the fans the Crazy Caribbean Good Time has to be 10 fold.
Noel & Cecibon Productions, Inc. ahead of the times continues a series of firsts. Still, nothing compares to "The original, the true Haitian Compas Festival," A Miami Standard.
